
How to Start Planning Your Life When You Feel Overwhelmed

Strategy is what makes:
A Fortune 500 business grow.
A content creator generate income.
A motivational speaker stay in demand.
And whether we realize it or not, we’re all running a business—our own lives. But here’s the real question:
Are we managing it well, or just getting by?
The Problem: Living Without Structure Creates Overwhelm
Overwhelm happens when we fly by the seat of our pants—when we wake up every day with no real plan and hope everything will just "work out." We create no order in our steps, and we live for the day instead of building for the future.
But there’s a different kind of peace that comes when you wake up and:
✔️ Your home is in order.
✔️ You’ve already handled the heavy work.
✔️ Your mental space is clear, leaving room to focus on other needs.
That kind of peace isn’t a coincidence—it’s the result of planning.
The Shift: Small Changes That Created Big Results in My Life
I started realizing that small intentional actions could completely shift my daily routine:
📌 Instead of rushing to iron clothes every morning → I iron them all on Sunday to save time.
📌 Instead of grocery shopping with no plan → I meal plan before going to the store, so I buy only what I need.
📌 Instead of stressing over dinner every night → I cook my protein early, freeing up time to spend with my kids.
📌 Instead of wondering where my money went → I planned my paycheck before I received it, ensuring I paid myself first.
Each small shift made a huge impact on my peace of mind.
The Wake-Up Call: My Mornings Were a Mess
I remember waking up one morning with only 45 minutes before I had to leave the house—
"That morning was chaos. My alarm went off, and I had exactly 45 minutes to get out the door.
No lunch prepped.
No outfits picked.
I was rushing, yelling, and running around like a crazy-woman.
I threw on whatever I could find, shoved junk food in my bag, and prayed I wouldn’t be late. And the worst part? This wasn’t a one-time thing—it was my reality. Every. Single. Day.
It wasn’t fair to them, but also not to myself.
Because I refused to take one or two hours to set up my week, my entire day was ruined:
😩 I ate trash food.
☕ I gulped down way too much coffee & sugar.
👕 I threw on clothes that didn’t make me feel confident.
🏡 I came home to a messy house.
All because I refused to plan ahead.
That’s when I had a realization: We are the business supervisors of our own lives.
If my life were a business at that time, it would have failed.
Ask yourself: Is your life thriving or barely holding on by a thread?

What Changed My Life Forever (And Can Change Yours Too)
Here are the exact things I do now that have completely transformed my life:
✨ 1. Check in with yourself.
- How am I feeling?
- Is there clarity in my current situation?
- What’s one thing I can do today to move forward?
📖 Pro Tip: Use a journal as a self-reflection tool! Writing things down helps bring clarity.
✨ 2. Create a realistic strategy.
- List out everything that needs to be done to strengthen your life.
- Break it down step by step, from big goals to small actions.
✨ 3. Take action—even when you don’t see instant results.
- Small progress is still progress.
- Set a 1-hour timer on your phone.
- Remove distractions (put your phone on Do Not Disturb) and focus on one task at a time.
✨ 4. Organize your life.
- Declutter! Clean out your cabinets, closets, or drawers.
- Let go of things you no longer use—a clutter-free space = a clutter-free mind.
